Producers Guild to Honor Angelina Jolie's 'In the Land of Blood and Honey' With Stanley Kramer Award
Screen Gems has picked up rights to a creepy student-made short entitled Viral with the plan of spinning it into a feature.our editor recommendsScreen Gems Closes Deal to Remake Toronto Sensation 'The Raid''Iron Man 3' Leaving Los Angeles for North Carolina's EUE/Screen Gems Studios The pickup is a coup for Tim Shechmeister, a recent UCLA film school grad who directed the short and co-wrote it with his brother, Matt, as part of a thesis project. The Shechmeisters will co-write the feature and Tim would direct the big-screen version. The roughly 11-minute short is set in the world of cyberbullying and eventually includes supernatural elements. In fact, the story could be described as being reminiscent of The Grudge or The Ring, but primed for the current generation that uses smart phones and Facebook as extensions of themselves. The Grudge reference is apt because that movie's writer, Stephen Susco, discovered the short at a screenwriting event this past summer. Tim Shechmeister, who is also a fan of Japanese horror (AKA J-Horror), gave Susco his business card with a link to the short, which the scribe checked out and loved. "I see a lot of student films and like to see what's going on," says Susco. "I rarely see something as polished as this one." Susco brought it to Grudge producer Roy Lee who, along with Lawrence Grey, took it to Screen Gems. The trio will now produce.John Middleton will exec produce. "It strikes at the modern social media anxiety that really hits a hot nerve in this country," says Susco. "How young people communicate is changing and technology is altering the tenor of that communication-in many cases for the worse. And this is an opportunity to do something scary and really potent at the same time." Tim and Matt Shechmeister are repped by UTA. Email: Borys.Kit@thr.com Twitter: Borys_Kit
Hammond: Supporting Actress Oscar Hopefuls Might Wish For Absence Of Help
Could one movie dominate this years best supporting actress Oscar lineup? Certainly an argument could be made for any number of actresses in the ensemble hit, The Help and in fact two of them were nominated for Critics Choice Movie Awards today. But it is more likely Oscar voters will want to spread the wealth rather than repeat what they did for 1963s Tom Jones, when three ladies won the lions share of nominations in the category. The competition among supporting thesps is just too strong this year to go in that direction. Here is a look at the way this highly competitive category is shaping up. FRONTRUNNERS: OCTAVIA SPENCER, THE HELP As Minny Jackson, a civil rights-era maid, Spencer made a very memorable pie and got the bulk of the laughs among a large ensemble. She is a sure thing nominee, not only for her comic ability but her dramatic scenes too, making her a formidable contender and crowd favorite. BRNICE BEJO, THE ARTIST Taking on the challenge not only of playing the lead female role in a black and white silent film, Bejo also had to learn to tap dance and sing in addition to being a believable budding superstar of the silver screen. In other words she does it all except talk. But its more than enough. SHAILENE WOODLEY, THE DESCENDANTS Breaking out of the cable TV teen comedy ghetto, Woodley showed she is the real deal, delivering a layered, complex and three-dimensional performance of a teenage girl who suddenly faces bigresponsibilities. Creating a believable father/daughter relationship opposite George Clooney, Woodley emerged as the one to watch from her generation. VANESSA REDGRAVE, CORIOLANUS As an ambitious and politically shrewd military woman and mother, the inimitable Redgrave had her finest hour on screen in years, particularly in one killer monologue that remains perhaps the finest piece of acting in any 2011 movie. A controversial Oscar winner for 1977s Julia, her performance here is certain to net her a remarkable 7th career nomination. SANDRA BULLOCK, EXTREMELY LOUD AND INCREDIBLY CLOSE For her first role since winning the best actress Oscar two years ago for The Blind Side, Bullock took on a smaller but very meaningful role as the mother of a boy searching for answers after his father is killed on 9/11. Highly emotional and nicely underplayed, Bullock gets another shot at the brass ring and should have the audience in tears once again. JESSICA CHASTAIN, THE HELP or THE TREE OF LIFE or TAKE SHELTER or Where to start with Chastain, who it seems was in every other movie released in 2011? She was superb in all, so runs the risk of cancelling herself out completely. The NY Film Critics gave her their supporting actress award for a trio of films (and they didnt even mention The Debt), but the Academy doesnt have that luxury. Her best bet will probably be the role most widely seen, as Celia Foote in The Help but it may be hard to separate her from a group of very talented co-stars. JUDI DENCH, MY WEEK WITH MARILYN Multiple Oscar nominee Dench actually won for an eight minute role in 1998s Shakespeare in Love and her role her as the great actress Dame Sybil Thorndike is not much bigger, but just as memorable. After all, there is nothing like a Dame playing a Dame. Her role as Hoovers mother in J. Edgar also gives her added exposure. MELISSA MCCARTHY, BRIDESMAIDS Broad comedic performances like McCarthys in this female raunch comedy rarely get serious Oscar recognition but the Emmy-winning star of Mike and Molly so thoroughly and shamelessly stole every single scene she was in that there is lots of buzz percolating, and Universals main hope of sneaking into this years race. JANET McTEER, ALBERT NOBBS This movie is supposed to belong to Glenn Close but her co-star Janet McTeer dominates every scene shes in and nabbed an Indie Spirit nomination for her efforts. Unless you know in advance shes even in the film you wont recognize her and actors love roles where a performer completely disappears into the character. CONSIDERTHE POSSIBILITIES: JUDY GREER, THE DESCENDANTS Another small but great supporting turn from this veteran actress who has never really gotten the recognition she deserves. Actors know her though and they are doing the voting. Her funny, touching portrayal of a betrayed wife who tries to make amends for her husbands indiscretions is unforgettable.A hospital room confrontation with star George Clooney is priceless. MARION COTILLARD, MIDNIGHT IN PARIS This Oscar winner is a delight under the direction of Woody Allen and we all know Woody has a knack for landing his supporting stars Oscarnods so dont discount her chances. ANJELICA HUSTON, 50/50 As the doting, concerned mother of a cancer victim, Huston is pitch perfect, another fine outing from an actress who has grown into one of our finest. She won an Oscar for 1985s Prizzis Honor and could find herself in contention yet again if enough people pop in the DVD screener. CAREY MULLIGAN, SHAME After charming audiences and winning a BAFTA and an Oscar nomination in An Education, Mulligan changes pace, and hair color, completely to tackle this raw, naked NC-17 role and she nails it again even getting to sing NY NY. Is there anything she cant do? EVAN RACHEL WOOD, THE IDES OF MARCH This is the kind of tortured role young actresses kill for and Wood delivers on all cylinders. For whatever reason, there hasnt been a whole lot of awards buzz around it but actors will recognize a total pro performance and she could be a sleeper. JODIE FOSTER, KATE WINSLET, CARNAGE Like their male counterparts, Oscar winners Foster and Winslet may split the difference in this screen adaptation of the Broadway farce, God of Carnage. It is a Solomons choice between the two so take your pick. BRYCE DALLAS HOWARD, THE HELP We started with The Help and we will end with it. But Howard deserves recognition, some kind of recognition for believably playing two very unlikeable women and making us still care what happens to them. She made the most of her few scenes in 50/50 but she dominated them as a spoiled southern belle in The Help. She may be overshadowed by a couple of her co-stars but consideration should be paid.

Sienna Miller to Star as Tippi Hedren in BBC2 Movie About The Birds
This is far too intriguing not to think about for hours: The BBC2 just announced a project called The Girl, starring Sienna Miller as model-turned-actress Tippi Hedren and Toby Jones as Alfred Hitchcock, who obsessed over Hedren as they filmed the The Birds in northern California’s Bodega Bay. The extreme relationship between Hitch and Hedren, which included some violent bird-throwing sessions during one climactic scene, is well-documented and ready for re-inspection (as is any film starring the dashing Rod Taylor). But is this the most fascinating Hitchcock story to examine? We offer one other possible Hitchcock era that might be intriguing to revisit. But first, good news about The Girl: Looooongtime Hitchcock biographer Donald Spoto is signed on as a consultant, and Tippi Hedren has agreed to do interviews with screenwriter Gwyneth Hughes for the project. It appears this project has the potential to be — at the very least — accurate. And yet, The Birds would’ve been my second choice for a BBC chronicle. I’m partial to the endless disagreements behind Rebecca, Hitch’s 1940 Best Picture winner that marked his debut in America and a stormy partnership with David O. Selznick. Plus, maybe Judith Anderson can linger in the backdrop and cast frightening glances upon everything. Anyway, here’s Tippi Hedren’s amazing screen test for The Birds. Strut, turn, and pose, Melanie Daniels. Sienna Miller Is Tippi Hedren, Toby Jones Is Hitchcock In BBC2 Drama About ‘The Birds’ [Deadline]

GOP Flameout to six-Figure TV Star: Experts Weigh in on Who'll Ensure It Is
After nearly couple of years of bickering, Basketball players and entrepreneurs have came back on one side.our editor recommendsNBA Stars to think about Show on the road Throughout Lockout (Report)Nobody Sweats the Basketball Lockout and three Other Training From Showbiz Earnings SeasonNBA Lockout: Just what the Industry, Fans Say About Decision to Cancel Initial Few Times of SeasonStephen Colbert's Super PAC Releases Basketball Lockout Ad "You need to play basketball," Commissioner David Stern mentioned. Come Christmas Day, they ought to be. PHOTO: 10 Broadcast and Cable Tv Shows Most Seen By Males The perimeters showed up in a tentative agreement early Saturday to complete the 149-day lockout and desire to begin the postponed season getting a marquee tripleheader 12 ,. 25. Nearly all a season that made an appearance in risk to become lost entirely will probably be restored if both sides approve the handshake deal. Barring a modification of organizing, the 2010-12 season will open while using Boston Celtics at NY Knicks, then Miami at Dallas inside an Basketball finals rematch before MVP Derrick Rose and Chicago likely to Kobe Bryant as well as the Opponents. Neither side provided many specifics in regards to the deal, and you'll find still legal hurdles that has to certainly be removed before gymnasiums are open again. "We believe it is in within our interest to achieve a solution and save the sport,Inch union executive director Billy Hunter mentioned. Carrying out a secret meeting this year's week that got the broken process in line, the perimeters met more than 15 several hours Friday, attempting to save the summer season. Stern mentioned the agreement was "prone to numerous mortgage loan home loan approvals and extremely complex machinations, but we're positive that will all happen that the Basketball season will begin 12 ,. 25." The league plans a 66-game season and aims to start training camps 12 ,. 9, with free agency opening concurrently. Stern has mentioned it could take about four weeks from the contract to playing the initial game. PHOTOS: 'Entourage': 20 Memorable Hollywood Cameos Within the Series "All I'm at this time around is 'finally,'" Miami Warmth star Dwyane Wade told The Connected Press. Just 12 days after talks eliminate and Stern declared the Basketball may be headed with a "nuclear winter," he sitting alongside Hunter to announce the ten-year deal, with every side capable of opt out following a sixth year. "Personally, it's great to get familiar with this unique moment if this involves giving our fans whatever they wanted and preferred to determine,Inch mentioned Derek Fisher, the best choice in the players' association. A large part on sides is needed to approve the agreement, first reported by CBSSports.com. The Basketball needs votes from 15 of 29 entrepreneurs. (The league has the completely new Orleans Hornets.) Stern mentioned the labor committee expects to go over the agreement later Saturday and requires those to endorse it and recommend fully board. The union takes a simple the majority of its 430-plus people. That process is a touch harder following a players dissolved the union November. 14. Now, they need to drop their antitrust suit in Minnesota and reform the union before voting round the deal. Because the union disbanded, a completely new collective settling agreement is only able to be completed once the union has awesome. Drug testing together with other conditions must be talked about involving the players as well as the league, which must dismiss its suit filed in NY. "We're happy we've come this far," Stern mentioned. "There's still plenty of play the role of accomplished.Inch The perimeters will quickly return to work later Saturday, speaking to lawyers in addition to their own committees to keep the process moving. PHOTOS: Hollywood's Finest Fantasy Football Fans When the Basketball returns, entrepreneurs hope to get the type of parity that's available inside the Nfl, where the small-market Eco-friendly Bay Packers will be the current champions. The Basketball remains centered lately with the finest spenders, with Boston, La and Dallas winning the ultimate four game game titles. "It'll largely steer clear of the high-trading teams from competing inside the free-agent market the way they've had the chance to formerly. It's not the device we looked for to obtain if this involves a harder cap, nevertheless the luxury tax is harsher laptop or computer was. Hopefully it's effective," deputy commissioner Adam Silver mentioned. "We are feeling ultimately it'll give fans in every single community hope their team can compete for game titles." The league hopes fans return, despite their anger around the work stoppage that adopted this kind of effective season. But entrepreneurs wanted lots of league's $4 billion in annual revenues after players were guaranteed 57 percent of basketball-related earnings inside the old deal. Participating inside the talks for your league were Stern, Silver, Spurs owner Peter Holt, the chairman in the labor relations committee, and lawyers Ron Buchanan and Serta Rube. The players were represented by executive director Billy Hunter, leader Derek Fisher, v . p . Maurice Evans, attorney Ron Klempner and economist Kevin Murphy. Entrepreneurs locked the players This summer time 1, as well as the sides spent a lot of the summer season and fall fighting inside the division of revenues together with other changes entrepreneurs wanted in the new collective settling agreement. They mentioned they lost hundreds of vast amounts in each and every year in the former deal, ratified in 2005, and so they wanted something where the large-market teams wouldn't manage to outspend their smaller sized options. Players fought against against against people changes, reluctant to make use of whatever teams taken off the marketplace after they increased being free agents. "It had been very difficult seek anybody. The entrepreneurs showed up getting experienced substantial deficits and feeling the device wasn't working fairly across all teams," Silver mentioned. "I certainly be familiar with players had strong sights about anticipation if this involves what they ought to be getting into the machine. It needed plenty of compromise from each side' part, but that's that which you saw today." The ultimate day had turbulent patches. It needed multiple calls while using entrepreneurs' labor relations committee, whilst knowing another breakdown in talks means not only losing the Christmas schedule but potentially the entire season. "We resolved, despite occurrences where bumps today, the higher good needed us to knock ourselves out are available with this tentative understanding," Stern mentioned. He declined the suit will be a aspect in accelerating a deal, but things happened relatively quickly following a players filed a suit that could have won them some $6 billion in damages. "For people the suit is a factor that merely must be labored with," Stern mentioned. "It had not been the explanation for the settlement. The explanation for the settlement was we've got fans, we've got players who wish to play which we've got individuals that are based on us. Plus it's been our goal to attain a deal that was fair to every side and acquire us playing as rapidly as you possibly can, but that needed a while.Inch It finally created the second reduced season in Basketball history, joining the 1998-99 lockout that reduced the schedule to 50 games. This time around round the league will miss 16 games in the normal schedule. Even though deal's apt to be recognized, may possibly not be unanimous because you will find factions of hard-card inserts in camps who certainly are unhappy with substantive portions from the offer. "Let's all pray this calculates well," Pacers forward Danny Granger written on Twitter. But getting just what the entrepreneurs wanted needed a toll. Stern, after greater than 27 years since the league's commissioner, wanted to seal a deal much sooner but was committed for fighting for your entrepreneurs' wishes even at the risk of dangerous his legacy. Hunter labored with anger from agents in addition to questions using their own players about his strategy, wondering why it could this type of very long time for your players to take advantage from the threat of suit to supply them leverage which in fact had otherwise evaded them. The perimeters met just two occasions inside the initial few several days in the lockout before walking within the pace in September, if the have been too far gone to start camps quickly. The perimeters attempted meeting in small groups, large groups in addition to mediation, but nothing sparked compromise. Things changed now while using entrance of Jim Quinn, a classic NBPA counsel who had good associations on sides. The meeting Friday happened at work of his lawyer, though he did not participate. Supporting Actress honoree Carey Mulligan, shooting Baz Luhrmann’s The Truly Amazing Gatsby around australia travelled directly into accept her award for Shame from Christoph Waltz saying “I begged and begged (director) Steve McQueen for that part as well as adopted him right into a taxi and pretended I would Soho.” Probably the most amusing moments from the evening were watching in france they honorees in the Artist attempting to thank Harvey Weinstein (who wasin the crowd)to make the film possible. Receiving his award from co-star Penelope Ann Burns Breakthough Director champion Michel Hazanavicius thanked ” Horvey Win Steen” while his leading actor and Spotlight Award champion Jean Dujardinasked ” Must i talk? It’s by pointing out hair.” The best speeches from the evening belonged to presenter Hathaway As Catwoman who eschewed the teleprompter on her own cleverly written notes in showing 50/50 star Frederick Gordon-Levitt using the Breakthrough Actor of the season award, slyly mentioning he's really been in the commercial two decades, along with a very bearded Film Clip whobegan hisCinematographer of the season presentationto The Tree of Existence’s Emmanuel Lubezki by saying how he'd been mistaken for Jerry Bruckheimer when he drove as much as your accommodation. Wellonly if you feel Quentin Tarantino is a superb author’. Well I actually do and that i DO,” he stated. The ultimate award towards the ensemble cast from the Help was another highlight. Co-star Viola Davis recognized for that large group with sincere remarks concerning the toll theawards season takes. “Something you lose in self-promotion and also the Oscar push and publicists is this fact is really a collaborative art. There’s a feeling of trust that to be able to result in the talent work you couldn’t do only yourself, ” she stated with tears welling up. “Rather than quarrelling about billing, trailers, locations, you’re all within this together. With all of this Hollywood glamour and glamour it appears odd nobody has walked as much as televise the big event, despite Starz because the primary showing sponsor . Actually Starz mind honcho Chris Albrecht opened up the evening and couldn’t help but spot the star-studded room. The only issue is the fact that to be able to encourage them to appear you need to provide them with an award. That’s really Hollywood.

Monkey Admired
A Rogue Machine presentation of the play in 2 functions by Henry Murray. Directed by John Perrin Flynn. Sonny Bonobo - Edward TournierBrown Place - Justin Okin/David MauerMadeline Kahn - Amanda MauerJames Rat - Patrick FlanaganElaine Ostrich - Jennifer TaubPenguinito/Mr. Stubbs/Lab Tech - Ron BottittaRogue Machine and scribe Henry Murray come with an finish-of-mobile phone industry's romance going. 2 yrs after premiering his postapocalyptic pansexual "Treefall," they bring us his preapocalyptic pansexual "Monkey Admired," by which creatures, described by humans, await doomsday by acting the best traits of the species (i.e. eating and humping) while they are poisoned through the worst traits of ours. An uneven manufacture of an uneven text, the audacious vest-pocket spectacle is nonetheless probably the most captivating points of interest around at this time. It's mainly la vie en rose for Madeline Kahn the kitty (Amanda Mauer) and Brown Place your dog (Justin Okin, alternating with David Mauer), breakfast pals at downtown's Le Coffee shop Coffee shop. True, the pup includes a pulverizing crush on Sonny Bonobo (Edward Tournier), the preening simian who's become Ms. Kahn's latest flame since he's been launched from a pet testing lab. But Sonny doesn't have compunctions about riding Brownie's lap to create periodic zoological whoopie, so who's to complain? But you will find storm clouds coming. Gossips about human scientists' trying out remedies for radiation sickness suggest someone's got a finger around the nuclear button. Along with a "Paw Energy" resistance movement is emerging from subterranean within the person of James Rat (Patrick Flanagan), a rapping rodent whose beady eye is definitely out for incipient urban terrorists prepared to rise facing the oppressors. Murray veers crazily (and sometimes irritatingly) between punning and pathos, puppetry and poetry to support all his allegorical strains. Helmer John Perrin Flynn accumulates considerable suspense as act one finishes, but act two begins having a dead lull that the play requires a while to rebound. Furthermore, two roles appear miscast. Mauer lacks feline allure, hamstrung through the tiresome requirement to bugger her l's and r's in the way of her namesake's Lili von Shtupp "Blazing Saddles" role. She's heavy-footed, but less than Flanagan, vocally forced inside a part with the hairtrigger nervosity of Kaira Pitt in "12 Apes." Others embrace their inner creatures totally. Jennifer Taub lights up as Elaine the ostrich, blowsy coffee shop hostess whose have a problem with illness never reduces her supportive spirit. Ron Bottitta drops amusingly gnomic utterances like a droll penguin (this waiter includes their own tuxedo), adding a unique cameo like a great ape introduced lower by scientists' unspeakable practices. Tournier's is really a memorably physical performance integrating monkey manner and human frailty. (The jaunty organ-grinder cap is a superb touch from designer Stephanie Kerley Schwartz.) If thesp has yet to completely embody Sonny's anarchic lustfulness, he taps into an abundance of emotional authenticity once the broken creature is attracted to martyrdom like a cleansing act of meaning. Throughout, he's sweetly synchronized with Okin's sincere, heartbreakingly loyal hound. Their unlikely romance eventually ends up seeming as natural as Romeo and Juliet's and, under Serta Weingarten's delicate lighting, equally star-entered. Like magic, through all of the monkeyshines, Murray handles to create us nearer to an awareness from the exquisite discomfort of affection as practiced through the human animal.Sets and costumes, Stephanie Kerley Schwartz lighting, Serta Weingarten seem, Frederick "Sloe" Slawinski forecasts, Adam Flemming puppeteers, David Hair combs, Linda Hoag original music, Michael Wells. Opened up March. 8, 2011. Examined March. 9. Running time: one hour, 45 MIN. Contact the range newsroom at news@variety.com

Do Lars Von Trier's Nazi Comments Deserve Indefinite Self-Imposed Silence -- or Worse?
Well, now: Lars Von Trier’s notorious Nazi comments last May have haunted him all the way home to Denmark, where he says local cops questioned him in connection to charges leveled at him by French officials, post-Cannes. In a statement released today, the Melancholia director issued a promise of his own following the media and legal shit storm caused by his ill-conceived joking, announcing that he’ll no longer speak publicly or to press. At all. Von Trier’s statement (courtesy of Awards Daily): “Today at 2 pm I was questioned by the Police of North Zealand in connection with charges made by the prosecution of Grasse in France from August 2011 regarding a possible violation of prohibition in French law against justification of war crimes. The investigation covers comments made during the press conference in Cannes in May 2011. Due to these serious accusations I have realized that I do not possess the skills to express myself unequivocally and I have therefore decided from this day forth to refrain from all public statements and interviews.” Here’s what von Trier is up against: The Gayssot Act of 1990 made it illegal in France to question the existence of certain crimes against humanity, with a focus on the Holocaust. It also restricts making public statements that either justify or are sympathetic to said crimes, punishable with prison time or a fine. Back in May, Movieline’s Stephanie Zacharek reported on von Trier’s comments from the Cannes press conference for Melancholia: “I think I was a Jew for a long time,” he said. “I was very happy being a Jew.” Then, after making a sly reference to fellow Dane filmmaker Susanne Bier, who often speaks candidly about her Jewish identity in interviews, von Trier announced that even though he always really wanted to be a Jew, he discovered that he’s really a Nazi. “Which also gave me some pleasure,” he added.“What can I say? I understand Hitler,” he continued. “I think he did some wrong things, absolutely, but — I can see him in his bunker in the end.”The roomful of journalists sat, stunned. It appeared that von Trier, who seemed to be in jolly good spirits for a notoriously depressive Dane, intended this as an joke, albeit an ill-advised one. But how was he going to dig himself out? He added that Hitler was “not what you would call a good guy” and babbled further, explaining that he’s very much “for” Jews. “All Jews. Well, Israel is a pain the ass.”Von Trier knew he was in a pickle, and asked aloud, “How do I get out of this sentence?” But there was more: When one last journalist asked von Trier if he considered Melancholia to be his Hollywood blockbuster, he replied, “We Nazis tend to do things on a great scale.” Whether or not you believe that the incident has truly scared von Trier straight (and I do), one thing’s clear: In no way could he have imagined that his terrible joke would wreak such havoc on his public image, let alone lead to legal repercussions. But then he’s an artist, and a known provocateur at that, and besides: Why has France taken such lengths to enforce its anti-free speech laws on someone who was clearly just talking out of his ass?

Rare Chance to See the Uncut Version of 'The Shining' (If You Live in New York)
'The Shining,' Stanley Kubrick's landmark 1980 horror film adaptation Stephen King's classic novel, was originally released with a two-minute epilogue that's only been seen by a handful of viewers. Shortly after the film's limited opening, Kubrick decided to cut the scene, which took place after the (literally) chilling last moments. In the intervening 30 years, fans have waited for the original ending to see the light of day and now, they're in luck: The rare coda is hitting the big screen, just in time for Halloween. The longer cut of 'The Shining' will show as part of a horror series at the Dryden Theatre at the George Eastman House in NY City on Oct. 22. No advance tickets will be available, so start lining up now. The extended ending starts with two state troopers looking for Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson), but not able to see his frozen body. The scene moves to a hospital where the hotel manager tries to convince Wendy (Shelley Duvall) that nothing supernatural happened at the Overlook, and that no one ever found her husband. This Stanley Kubrick blog shows images from the deleted scene, as well as oodles of 'Shining' minutiae. (Kubrick fans are hardcore.) Roger Ebert was one of the few to see the original ending and thought cutting it was a smart move. "Kubrick was wise to remove that epilogue," Ebert said. "It pulled one rug too many out from under the story." [via Slashfllm] Photo: Warner Bros. The Hangover 2 Watch Online
