Ordino finds home for Pozo's 'Pets'
The the spanish language language animator Jose Pozo ("El Cid: The Legend," "Donkey Xote") is installed on professional produce 3d toon pic "No Pets Allowed," setup at Andorra's Ordino Art galleries Media Group. "Pets" is an element from the ambitious plan by Ordino, Andorra's flagship film-TV group, to exhibit the principality, nestling between France and also the country inside the high Pyrenees, in to a new Southern Europe talent hub offering film and TV product, services and finance. Andorra's low taxes and intellectual property stance helps to make the location attractive. "Pets," which get into production next season, triggers a boy who must fight crazy monsters inside the London apartment building where his father might be the janitor. "We wish a thing that looks worldwide with many different humor," mentioned OSMG controlling director Jordi Alba. Adrian Garcia, Victor Maldonado and Alfredo Torres, who mind animation company Headless, will direct "Pets." They have completed a preliminary-draft script. Garcia and Maldonado directed the delicately attracted 2007 animated feature "Nocturna," a Filmax production. "Cid" and "Donkey," both also produced by Filmax, were a few Spain's finest-profile toon photos in the last decade. Pozo is Ordino's creative director, Alba mentioned. This spring, Ordino also acquired Studio Nest, a 3 dimensional animation, character design and vfx company. Studio Nest CG artists did many recent high-profile animation and vfx-heavy films from Barcelona, including Filmax's "El Cid" and "Fragile" and Rodar y Rodar's approaching "XP 3d.Inch Alba and Ordino Art galleries marketing mind Laurie Severn have been in AFM with "Pets," that Ordino will tap 25% in the budget from Andorra. It's trying to find completion finance through a combination of equity -- from Europe or perhaps the U.S. -- and gap financing. The studio's push into animation has come about as Andorra diversifies from tourism by developing advanced service industries. Low social security obligations keep labor costs competitive, key as Ordino sets to supply services on third-party productions, Alba contended. Closer to the U.S. or U.K. model, Andorra's intellectual property laws and regulations and rules also ensure it is better to get rights to characteristics, Severn mentioned. Alba mentioned Ordino aims being "a kind of creative high-performance center." OSMG's others include live-action producer Smoke Merchants, Ordino Music, Ordino Art galleries Services and Audio-video Experience, whch organizes occasions, museums and interactive exhibit expos. Ordino may even operate a fund to buy local photos. Contact the number newsroom at news@variety.com
